Review of 'Vita Coco' Pure Coconut Water

Vita Coco -- Pure Coconut Water (vegan)
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Summary: do your taste buds and body a favour and buy this gift from the gods. This is one of the most refreshing beverages I've had...it's fresh and sweet and very light. It's the perfect summer drink and can be great as a mixer and natural smoothie sweetener. The only downside is that the batches can vary in taste and colour (very rare).

Where to buy: Wanigan, Fortinos, Whole Foods

Ingredients: coconut water, less than 1% natural fruit sugar, vitamin C.

Mmm, this is a very low-calorie and high impact drink! I couldn't believe it was only 45 cals when I first sipped it -- thought it was too good to be true! It has no fat, it's low in carbs/sugars per serving compared to many other fruit juices, and provides your daily vitamin C needs.

The flavour is just awesome -- it's very light and the liquid is clear (like water!) so it works so well in different drinks in the summer. I use it to sweeten my protein shakes and smoothies to avoid added sugars and it's fantastic. Regarding batch diversity, I've only every come across 1 batch that was darker in colour and tasted a bit 'off'. The website does state that this may occur due to differences in soils in different production areas.

Coconut water is a staple with my family--wholesome and delicious!
