Review of 'ACE Bakery' Organic Granary Sliced Bread

ACE Bakery -- Organic Granary Sliced Bread
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Summary: this is one hearty, filling, wholesome bread. Each bite has fullness and depth of flavour. With breads like these, I could never go back to non-whole grain, plain, flimsy, white breads. Each bite made me love it even more. The texture is amazing (thanks to those sunflower seeds) and the crust is one of my favourite parts.

This is one of my favourite breads. It has amazing ingredients (organic whole grains) and the nutritional profile is reflective of this. It's low in fat, has no cholesterol, and is high in protein and fiber. 2 slices will yield 6g fiber and 8g protein. I usually have this with avocado and Earth Balance Organic Coconut Spread (can't go wrong with an Avocado Coconut Sandwich!!).

The bread is heavy, has real substance and fullness to it, and has an incredible texture. The crust has a verrry slight but distinguishing crisp, which is so so nice. The sunflower seeds add a nice chew to it as well. I liked that there was a reaally faint hint of sweetness in the taste and after you toast it, the sunflower seeds take on an ever nicer chew.

I would definitely buy this bread again!

  1. I checked the ingredient list from the ace website and it says may contain eggs and honey. I own a restaurant and am trying to figure out a true vegan bread. Any ideas?
