Review of 'Yves' Veggie Pizza Pepperoni

Summary: I wish these were just a wee bit thicker to get a bigger punch of flavour, and less sodium but otherwise, they absolutely take the place of pepperoni very well. The flavour is authentic and I really enjoyed the crispy edges of the slices. I wanted to give this a solid 4/5, but because I couldn't conclusively ascertain Yves' stance on GMOs, I opted for a 3.5/5.

So I have no real issues with these ingredients other than the fact that I'm not 100% sure that they are GMO-free. When it comes to nutritional data, I'd say it's pretty decent except for the whopping 480mg of sodium! That's pretty bad -- once you make that pizza, the added salt in the pizza dough, pasta sauce (and cheese or cheese alternatives), olives, pepper rings, and other condiments will tally up very, very quickly.

I might consider trying to find soy sausages with less sodium and simply slicing them into pizza-appropriate bits. This way, I can also find a brand that is GMO-free! Perhaps Tofurky would be a good option.
