Review of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes

Kellogg's -- Frosted Flakes (vegan)
Overall Rating: 2/5
Summary: I do like the corn flavour, but that's about it. For all the sugar that's been added, the cereal isn't that sweet. And, combined with the fact that the ingredients are pretty horrid (GMOs, BHT, high fructose corn syrup), I can't rightly recommend this cereal. If you're looking for a healthy breakfast cereal, try the Nature's Path. You'll pay more, but the ingredients are the cleanest out there as far as I know.

Where to buy: Freshco, Fortinos, most major grocery stores

*Canadian ingredients: flaked milled corn, sugar, malt (corn flour, malted barley), salt, colour, bht.

*My version's ingredients: milled corn, sugar, malt flavoring, high fructose corn syrup, salt, bht.
      Contains traces of soybeans.

*The Canadian version has similar calories, but 0 fiber and 2g protein. Also, the Canadian version is not fortified with any vitamins and nutrients. The plus side is that the CA cereal has no high fructose corn syrup (linked to diabetes, obesity, health and liver illnesses, etc.).

The nutritional profile is pretty bare, other than the added nutrients and vitamins. If not for these fortifications, the 130 calories are empty, with only 1g protein and fiber. Not very impressive. You'll basically be relying on the added milk to get some more protein and nutrients. I say, if you're walking down the cereal aisle and you happen to glance at Kellogg's Frosted Flakes...keep on walking.
