Review of 'Nature's Path' Hemp Plus Granola

Nature's Path -- Hemp Plus Granola (vegan)
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Summary: I was expecting a denser granola. This one is a lighter, very crunchy and crispy texture. There are pockets of chewiness that add a nice texture. It's perfectly sweet for me, and I was using unsweetened soymilk. The flavour is nutty, syrupy and just really tasty. It's not a cereal I'd have on the regular since it is a little high in calories, but it's definitely a nice treat to have granola for breakfast for a week.

Where to buy: Fortinos, Bulk Barn

Ingredients: rolled oats*, evaporated cane juice*, soy oil*, brown rice flour*, flax seeds*, hemp seeds*, oat syrup solids* (oat syrup solids*, tocopherols), sea salt, molasses*.

*Organic.

Ah, so refreshing to see such lovely ingredients! All wholesome and non-GMO. It is rather high in calories for only 3/4 cup, but this is generally the norm for most granola. I'd say it's worth it given the great ingredients and the nutrition profile. Don't be scared of the 10g of fat, because there are healthy omegas involved. Relax!

I really like that it's low in sodium and has a solid amount of fibre, protein, and iron. Adding about 1/2 cup of your favourite milk makes for a boost in calcium and protein and makes for a well-rounded meal.
